The $4M Lane Cove Plaza Upgrade was officially opened by the Honourable Anthony Roberts (Local State Member and Minister for Energy / Resources) and the Lane Cove Council Mayor David Brooks-Horn on Saturday 1 November 2014. The opening coincided with Lane Cove’s first ever Coffee Festival.
Works commenced on the plaza in mid-May 2014, and required over 24,000 man hours to complete with approx 7,500 man hours conducted as nightshifts through the cold of winter. In order to meet the tight construction timeframe, works were conducted 7 days a week, with works essentially undertaken non-stop from 7pm Sunday night to 5pm Thursday afternoon, with additional day only shifts on Friday and Saturday.
A massive effort was completed by the Project Team that consisted of Brett Beauchamp (Project Manager), Stacy Baty (Site Manager), Matt Edmonds and Matt Dingle (Project Engineers) with ongoing assistance from Marty Hunter (Construction Manager).
